ju:niz Energy, one of Germany’s leading developers and operators of large-scale battery storage facilities, has acquired the project rights for a battery storage facility with a connected load of 250 MW and a capacity of up to 612 MWh from Pacifico Energy Partners. The project will be connected to the extra-high voltage grid of transmission system operator 50 Hertz by the end of 2028.
With this transaction, ju:niz Energy is setting another milestone in its co-development strategy. Under the model, Pacifico will continue to develop the project until it is ready for construction, at which point ju:niz will take over construction and operation. “This approach enables us to implement projects efficiently and in line with market requirements, despite high upfront costs and a dynamic regulatory environment,” explains Dr. Marcus Groll, CEO of ju:niz Energy.
