This 1.4 MWh storage system at an automotive supplier in the Nuremberg area is also a typical industrial storage project. The primary use case is peak shaving, i.e. the limitation of peak demand at the grid transfer point and thus the saving of power prices. In this case, however, the customer can also use the storage system to realize so-called “atypical grid usage”, i.e. not only reduce their load peaks, but also shift them out of the supplier’s peak load time window, thereby saving grid charges.
